Teachers’ Tips:

Sections 28 - 32 are the Test Sections. These tests follow the same format as the tests at the end of the Book 1 Online Resources.

Each test depicts several characters in different places doing different actions. A tremendous amount of English can be gleaned from these pictures by simply asking questions and answering them in full sentences.

If the material in the previous sections was presented properly, over a long enough period of time, and with sufficient repetition, than these tests should pose no problems for students. After all, the tests are repetition of material studied earlier.

If students find the material on these tests foreign to them or too difficult than it may be beneficial to go back and review the sections that are giving them problems.

* It is worth noting that every question says the characters’ names but not the answers. In the answers the names are substituted for the pronouns “he” and “she”. For example Question: “Where is Billy Beaver?” Answer: “He’s at taekwondo academy”. Every question of every test follows this pattern. If you would like your students to say the characters’ names in their answers than have them do it that way. We substituted characters names for the pronouns “he” and “she” for the sake of brevity.

The 5 Components

1. Song - There are no songs to accompany the Test Sections, but the Video / Audio File will be very helpful.

2. Interactive Video / Audio File - Play this Video / Audio File as often as you like to prepare students for the aural portion of the test.

Pause the player after every question and let the students answer themselves first. Then check their answer with the Video / Audio File.

Students should be able to ask and answer every question. Bring them to the front of the class and have them interview each other. You can make a game out of it and divide the class in half. One side asks the questions and the other side answers and then switch.

3. Textbook Activities - This test is meant to be taken aurally. Once the students have practiced sufficiently along with the Video / Audio File they need to be checked individually by the teacher.

Call students up to you one at a time and ask them all the questions that the Video / Audio File asks while pointing at the picture. Make sure to cover up the answers below so the students can't read them. Finally award the student a grade. How you grade them is up to you - perhaps a score out of 10 or a percentage out of 100 or a letter grade like A+ or B-. It is up to you, the teacher, to decide the scoring system.

While students are being tested the other students can study quietly to themselves or color in the black and white picture.

5. Work Sheets - The corresponding Work Sheets are for a written portion of the test. The pages are self-explanatory. If you are unsure about what should be written on the blank lines follow the format of the tests in the textbook or the Interactive Video / Audio Files. They are the same. Have students fill in the correct answers on the lines and color in the picture if they finish early.

Teachers' Tips:

섹션 28부터 32까지는 테스트 섹션입니다. 교재 1권 마지막의 온라인 자료와 같은 방법으로 테스트합니다.

각 테스트들은 많은 캐릭터들이 다른 장소에서 다른 행동들을 하고 있는 모습을 묘사합니다. 사진들을 보고 문장으로 질문을하고 대답을 하며 매우 많은 영어표현이 나올 수 있습니다. 

이전 섹션의 내용들이 오랜시간동안 충분한 반복학습으로 적당하게 교육되었다면 테스트들은 학생들에게 어렵지 않을 것입니다. 말하자면 테스트들은 이전에 배웠던 내용들의 반복입니다.

만약 학생들이 본 테스트를 어려워하고 당황해 한다면 이전의 내용으로 돌아가  어려움을 느꼈던 섹션의 내용을 복습해야 할 것입니다. 

5단계 학습 구성

1. 노래 – 테스트 섹션에는 노래가 없지만 비디오/오디오 파일이 많은 도움이 될것입니다.

2. 비디오 /오디오 상호 학습 – 원하는 만큼 많이 들려주시고 듣기 테스트를 준비하는 과정으로 학습하게 합니다.

매번 문제가 나오면 비디오를 중지시긴뒤 학생들이 스스로 먼저 대답을 적게합니다. 그리고 비디오에서 나오는 답과 맞는지 체크하게 합니다.

학생들을 두명씩 앞으로 나오게 한뒤 질문과 대답으로 대화를 하게 합니다. 학생들을 두 팀으로 나눠 한팀은 질문을 다른 한팀은 대답을하게하고 두팀의 역할을 바꿔서도 게임을 시행합니다.

3. 교재 활동 – 이 테스트는 구두로 이루어져야 합니다. 학생들이 비디오와 오디오 파일을 통해 충분한 연습을 거쳤다면 개인마다 선생님의 확인을 거쳐야 합니다.

학생들을 한명씩 불러 그림을 보면서 비디오와 오디오 파일에 나왔던 질문들을 합니다. 질문 할때는 학생들이 그림 아래에 나온 정답을 읽을 수 없도록 가립니다. 그 다음에는 학생을 평가합니다. 총점 10점에서 점수를 주거나 백문율 평가방식, A+ 또는 B- 등 평가방식은 교사에게 달려있습니다. 평가방식은 교사의 몫입니다.

학생들이 한명씩 테스트 받고 있는동안 다른 학생들은 조용히 혼자서 공부하거나 흑백의 그림에 색칠을 하게합니다.

5. 워크북 학습 – 쓰기 테스트에 해당되는 워크북 페이지 입니다.

설명이 따로 필요없는 워크북학습입니다. 학생들은 그림을 보고 올바른 답을 채우고 일찍 끝난 학생들은 그림에 색칠을 하며 기다리게합니다.
