Teachers' Tips:

The 5 Components

1. Song – The Shopping Song has the exact same melody as The House Song from Textbook 1. Students should remember this melody and be able to sing along with this song almost immediately.

2. Interactive Video / Audio File – There is no Interactive Video / Audio File for this section.

3. Textbook Activities –Once the students can sing this song very well you can play the Audio File  for this song with no vocals (Track 8 on the CD in the back of the textbook) Students will have to do all the singing themselves.

4. Classroom Activities – In Textbook 2 at the bottom of Page 49 there are instructions for a "Shopping Song Project". This is a great activity that students can do at any time once they are familiar with The Shopping Song and many of the new verbs and places in Textbook 2. The instructions for this project as written on Page 49 of Textbook 2 are as follows -

Just like at the end of Book 1 students can make a song about themselves. They can
each draw themselves doing something fun in one of the new places we have studied.
Have the class sing the song but this time go around the room and get every student
to hold up their picture. Then sing; “Where‘s Johnny?” “He’s in the toy store” “What’s
he doing?” “He’s riding a skateboard”.
You can also have them sing the song in the first person. The class will take turns
asking each other questions about their pictures. For example the class will sing;
“Where’s Johnny?” (Johnny sings) “I’m in toy store” (class sings) “What’s he doing?”
(Johnny sings) “I’m riding a skateboard”.

Another suggestion for a classroom activity is to write the words of this song on the board and have students copy them into their notebook.

Use your imagination to come up with fun ways to help students learn the words to this song.

5단계 학습 구성

1. 노래 –  The Shopping Song은 본교재 1권의 The House Song과 똑같은 멜로디로 되어있습니다. 학생들은 이 멜로디를 기억할수 있을것이므로 노래를 들었을때 즉시 따라 부를수 있을것입니다.

2. 비디오 /오디오 상호 학습 – 본 섹션에는 상호학습을 위한 비디오/오디오 파일이 없습니다.

3. 교재 활동 – 오디오 파일을 재생시켜 학생들이 교재의 그림을 가리키며 노래를 따라부르도록 합니다.

학생들이 노래에 익숙해지게되면 목소리가 나오지 않는 오디오 파일(교재 뒤 CD 8번 트랙)을 틀어 학생들이 스스로 노래를 하도록 지도합니다.

4. 교실 활동 – 교재 2권 49페이지 하단에 "Shopping Song Project"가 서술되어 있습니다. 학생들에게The Shopping Song과 많은 새로운 동사들 그리고 교재2권에 나오는 장소들이 익숙해진다면 언제라도 좋은 학습 활동을 할수 있는 소재입니다.

교재 1권의 마지막에 나오는것처럼 학생들은 본인들이 노래를 개사하여 직접 만들어 볼수 있습니다. 그동한 학습했던 새로운 장소들 중 하나를 선택해 어떤 것이라도 학생 자신이 재미있게 할수 있는 일들을 넣어 그림을 그리게 합니다. 그런다음 학생들 모두 자신이 그린 그림을 들어보이게하고 돌아가면서 그림에 대해  “Where‘s Johnny?” “He’s in the toy store” “What’s he doing?” “He’s riding a skateboard”라는 식으로 함께 노래 합니다.

학생들은 돌아가며 다른 학생들이 가진 그림에 관해 질문을 하는 노래를 할수 있습니다.  예를 들어 학생들이 다같이 “Where’s Johnny?”라고 노래를 하면 (Johnny가 노래합니다. ) “I’m in toy store” (학생들이 다 함께 다시 한번 노래 합니다.) “What’s he doing?” (Johnny가 노래합니다. ) “I’m riding a skateboard”라고 마무리 하면 됩니다.

다른 학급 활동을 하나더 제안한다면 이 노래에 나오는 단어들을 칠판에 단어들을 적고 학생들이 따라서 노트에 쓸수 있도록 할수도 있겠습니다.

선생님의 상상력을 동원해서 학생들이 노래를 통해 단어들을 익힐 수 있도록 도와줍니다.
