Teachers' Tips:

We are continuing with the "Food Picture Dictionary" using the same question and answer model as the previous section. This section introduces Vegetables and Meats. Be careful with the differences between "What's this?" for uncountable objects like broccoli and lettuce and "What are these?" for countable objects like carrots and potatoes.

You may want to begin this section with a lesson about this/these for countable/uncountable objects right at the beginning. It is important that students understand the difference now and start forming correct speaking habits right away.

The 5 Components

1. Song – Continue to play The Food Song to help study this section.

2. Interactive Video / Audio File – Play the file as often as you like. Pause the video and have students answer themselves. Make sure to emphasize the differences between countable things like mushrooms and uncountable things like lettuce.

3. Textbook Activities – Use the same Textbook teaching methods as in Section 8 for every section in Food Picture Dictionary.

4. Classroom Activities – Continue to build a library of Flash Cards for these objects. Use the Flash Cards to practice, study and play games with.

5. Work Sheets – Complete the Work Sheets for this section. If students are having problems remembering the food names have them do more studying on their own. They can draw their own pictures into their notebooks. Don't forget to have a Review Test at the end of this section.

전 섹션과 같이 음식 그림 사전을 이용하여 질문과 대답을 합니다. 본 섹션은 야채와 고기에 대하여 소개합니다. 브로콜리나 상추와 같은 불가산 명사를 묻는 "What's this?"와  당근과 감자와 같은 가산명사를 묻는 "What are these?"의 차이점에 주의를 하여 지도합니다. This/These 또는 가산/불가산 명사에 대해 먼저 설명하는 것도 좋은 방법입니다. 가산/불가산 명사에 대한 개념은 워크북2-2의 44 – 48쪽에 나와있는 섹션18에서 나중에 복습할 수 있습니다. 

이 학습은 학생들이 가산/불가산 명사의 개념을 익히는 것은 매우 중요하며 그 다음에는 그에 맞는 바른 말하기 습관을 형성해야 합니다.

5단계 학습구성

1. 노래 – 계속해서The Food Song을 재생하여 본 섹션의 공부를 돕습니다.

2. 비디오 / 오디오 상호 학습 –파일을 가능한 자주 재생합니다. 비디오를 일시정지하여 학생들이 스스로 대답하도록 합니다. 학생들이 버섯과 같은 가산명사와 상추와 같은 불가산 명사의 차이를 인지하도록 강조합니다.

3. 교재 활동 – 모든Food Picture Dictionary의 섹션에서는 섹션8에서 학습했던것과 같은 방법을 사용하여 지도합니다.

4. 교실 활동 – 플래시 카드를 계속 활용해 영어연습과 공부를 병행하고 게임도 합니다.

5. 워크북 학습 –본 섹션의 연습문제를 모두 마친뒤 학생들이 음식들의 이름을 기억하는데 어려움을 느끼면 스스로 보충 학습을 하도록 지도합니다. 스스로 그림을 그려 노트에 붙여 넣도록 하는 것도 한가지 방법이 될 수 있습니다. 섹션이 끝날때는Review Test를 하는것도 잊지 마세요.
