The 5 Components

1. Song – Continue to play the How Are You (Song) to help study this section.

2. Interactive Video / Audio File – There is an "Okay" and an "Excellent" Version of these activities as well. Once students understand the concepts "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow" and can speak the basic phrases it is important to add the polite words. This way the students practice speaking longer dialogues AND good manners will become a habit!

3. Textbook Activities – Have students come up and practice individually with you. Move through the pictures at the top of Page 7 and ask "What day is today?" "What day is tomorrow?" and "What day was yesterday?" for each picture - just like in the Video.

Pair up students and have them practice with each other.

4. Classroom Activities – As was mentioned before, it is important for the students to memorize the names of the days of the week, their order, and how to spell them.

There is a good activity at the bottom of page 7. Have students write the names of the days of the week on small pieces of paper and then jumble them up on the desk in front of them. Then they must arrange the words into the correct order. You can make a game out of it! Say "GO!" and the first student to arrange their words correctly wins!

5. Work Sheets – The goal of these Work Sheets is to teach the different "tenses". For example, What day is today? What day is tomorrow? and What day was yesterday?

You can expand on these lessons by making activities of your own on the board and having students copy them into their notebooks.

5단계 학습구성

1. 노래 – 본 섹션의 학습을 돕기 위해 How Are You? 노래를 계속해서 들려줍니다.

2. 비디오 / 오디오 상호 학습 - "Okay"와 "Excellent"버젼이 있습니다. 학생들이 "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow"의 개념을 모두 익히고 기본적인 표현들을 말할수 있으면 다음에는 정중한 표현들도 덧붙여 얘기 할수 있도록 지도합니다.  이러한 노력을 통해 학생들은 좀 더 긴 대화를 하게되는 연습을 할수있고 예절이 몸에 배이는 습관을 들이게 될것입니다.

3. 교재 활동 –  학생 개개인이 교사와 함께 연습할 수 있게 합니다.  비디오에 나오는것처럼 교재의 맨 위의 그림부터 하나씩 짚어가며 "What day is today?" "What day is tomorrow?" 그리고 "What day was yesterday?"등의 질문을 하고 학생들이 대답을 하도록 합니다.

다음엔 학생들을 두 명씩 짝을 지워 서로 연습하도록 합니다.

4. 교실 활동 – 미리 언급했듯이 학생들이 각 요일의 이름들과 그 순서를 익히고  또한 철자까지 기억하는것은 가장 중요한 학습입니다.

7페이지 하단에 좋은 학습활동이 나와있습니다. 학생들에게 각 요일의 이름을 작은 종이에 적어 각자의 책상 위에서 섞게 합니다. 그 다음에 학생들은 요일이 적어진 종이를 순서에 맞게 나열합니다. 교사는 이것을 게임으로 활용할 수도 있습니다. “시작!” 이라는  구호와 함께 시작하고 제일 먼저 순서대로 나열하는 학생이 승자가 됩니다. 

5. 워크북 학습 -  이번 워크북 학습의 목표는 각 다른 시제들을 가르치는 것입니다. 예를 들어What day is today? What day is tomorrow? 그리고 What day was yesterday?와 같은 질문들을 사용합니다.

선생님은 이러한 연습문제를 칠판에 요일을 적어 학생들이 받아 적게 하는 등 다양한 활동으로 활용할 수 있습니다.
