Teachers’ Tips:

Pages 17 to 23 in Textbook 1 deal with the rooms in the home and the objects in them. Up until this point, students have practiced asking and answering the questions "What's this?" "What color is the...?" and "What's his/her name?" It's now time to introduce the concept of "Where".

Section 14 and The House Song introduced five rooms in the home. This section and following 4 sections will deal with the whereabouts of all of the furniture in the home.

The Audio / Video Files are very repetitious. By the time students have completed each section they should have memorized the names of all of the objects in the home and be able to state their whereabouts in a full sentence.

The 5 Components

1. Song - Play The House Song

2. Interactive Video / Audio File - These Video / Audio Files have the same format for all the rooms in the home. First, have students watch them, then have them repeat each line after it is spoken. Finally they can role play and ask each other the questions.

3. Textbook Activities - As always begin by pointing at the pictures and asking students "What's this?" and "Where is the...?" Students must ALWAYS respond in full sentences. As students become better at speaking, put them into groups of two and have them ask each other questions. You can then bring them up and interview them individually.

There are a lot of objects in the bedroom that are not in this picture. You can have students draw in the boxes things that are in their bedroom that are not in this picture.

4. Classroom Activities - Flash Cards are a great way to introduce the objects in each room in the home. Repeat the Video File activity with Flash Cards.

Have students draw a picture of their own bedroom and label what everything in the picture is.

5. Work Sheets - Every room in the home section begins with a coloring exercise. The purpose of this is not only to teach the students about the objects in the bedroom but also to help them practice reading the color names. Have students color in the picture on Workbook 1-2 Page 27 and then tell you or the class about the picture.

They can stand up in front of the class and say "The blanket is blue" "The dresser is green" etc.

본교재  17쪽부터 23페이지 까지는 어떤 방에 어떤 물건들이 있는지를 다루고 있습니다. 학생들은 "What's this?", "What color is the...?"그리고 "What's his/her name?"이라는 질문과 그에 맞는 대답을 연습해 왔습니다. 이번 시간부터는어느 물건들이 어떤 장소에 위치하고 있는지에 관한 "where"을 학습하는것이 목표가 되겠습니다.

섹션 14와The House Song 은 집안의 다섯개의 방들을 소개해왔습니다. 이번 섹션과 다음의 4개 섹션에는 집안의 모든 가구들이 어느 장소에 위치해 있는지를 다룰것입니다.

오디오와 비디오 파일이 자주 반복됩니다. 학생들이 각각의 섹션을 공부한 후에는 집안의 모든 물건들이 어느 방에 위치해 있는지를 기억하게 되고 완전한 문장표현으로 얘기할수 있을 것입니다.

5단계 학습 구성

1. 노래 - The House Song을 들려줍니다.

2. 비디오 / 오디오 상호 학습 - 집안의 각 방을 소개하는 비디오, 오디오 파일들은 모두 같습니다. 반복해서 비디오를 본 후에 롤 플레이와 질문을 학생들 간에 서로 해보게 합니다.

3. 교재 활용 -항상 본교재 수업시에는 각 그림들을 짚어가며 "What's this?", "Where is the...?"라는 질문을 학생들에게 합니다. 또한 학생들은 항상 완전한 문장표현으로 대답해야 합니다. 그리고 학생들을 두명을 짝지워 서로 질문과 대답을 번갈아가며 해볼수 있도록 지도하고 앞으로 불러내어 개별적으로 질문을 해보는것도 학생의 speaking 능력향상에 좋은 방법이 될것입니다.

침실에 있는 많은 물건들이 그려있습니다.  학생들에게 이 페이지에 나와있지  않은 다른 물건들을 빈 칸안에 그리고 이름을 적게합니다.

4. 학급 활동 – 플래시 카드는 집안 각 방의 물건들을 소개할수있는 좋은 학습도구입니다. 플래시 카드와 비디오파일을 반복해서 공부합니다.

학생들 침실의 그림을 그리게하고 그림안의 모든물건들에 이름을 적게합니다.

5. 워크북 학습 - 집안의 방들을 공부하는 모든 섹션의 워크북은 색칠을하며 색의 이름을 익히는 연습으로 시작합니다.  침실의 물건들에 관한것만 가르치는 효과뿐 아니라 학생들이 컬러의 이름을 익히는것도 도울것입니다. 워크북 1-2의 27페이지의 그림에 색을 칠하고 선생님이나 학생들 앞에서 발표하게 합니다.

학생들은 앞으로 나와 "The blanket is blue" "The dresser is green"등과 같이 말할수 있습니다.
